Recognising Professional Excellence.

The Kamra tal-Periti exists to advance the practice of architecture and engineering in Malta. A key part of this mission is to recognise and promote the wide range of specialisations that enrich and strengthen the profession.

The establishment of specialisation chapters provides formal recognition to periti who possess advanced expertise in specific fields, while offering the public a clear and reliable way to identify professionals with the skills required for their particular needs.

What are the Kamra tal-Periti’s Chapters?

Kamra tal-Periti Chapters are formally recognised bodies of professionals specialised in a specific area of professional practice. Each chapter provides a structured platform for advancing knowledge, setting professional standards, and fostering excellence within its discipline. Chapters bring together periti with shared expertise or professional focus, working collaboratively to promote best practice, ethical conduct, and continuous professional development.

Chapters are established to:

  • Define and uphold the professional standards relevant to their discipline
  • Provide guidance, knowledge-sharing, and resources to practitioners
  • Encourage dialogue, collaboration, and peer engagement
  • Support the recognition and accreditation of specialised competencies
  • Contribute informed input to national policy, regulatory, and legislative frameworks

Through the establishment of Chapters, the Kamra tal-Periti ensures that specialised areas of architectural and engineering practice are supported, appropriately regulated, and aligned with the wider objectives of professional integrity, public interest, and cultural stewardship.

In addition to specialisation chapters, the Kamra tal-Periti has established Policy Committees, recently introduced bodies within its organisational structure tasked with developing ideas, agendas, and policy positions on specific thematic areas relevant to the profession.
